Inconsistent line break behavior in private messages

There seems to be an issue with how line breaks behave in private messages. In some circumstances (I think by using the "New Private Message" button on the Messages tab on the desktop site, but I'm not sure if even that is 100% consistent), inserting two line breaks (i.e. pressing Enter twice) leaves a blank line in between paragraphs, which is good and allows for longer messages to be more readable.

However, in other circumstances (i.e. the blue envelope button underneath the username on an audition, or basically any DMs sent from the mobile site as far as I can tell), pressing Enter twice between paragraphs only results in a single newline displayed in the delivered message, without the blank line. Without the bit of spacing in between paragraphs, longer direct messages become much more difficult to read, as it looks like a huge wall of text.

I would like to request that all private messages be updated to no longer strip out consecutive newline characters, so that longer private messages are easier to read with proper spacing in between paragraphs.

I have attached a couple of images demonstrating one PM that contains proper line break behavior, and one that does not.

Edit: In certain cases, it seems to strip out ALL line breaks, not even adding a single newline. I've added a third screenshot for comparison.
